Billy Husher is an Attorney at the Costas Network Law Center, LLC. He earned his J.D. and a Certificate in Constitutional Rights & Remedies at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he studied as a Provost’s Scholar. He graduated with honors from Southeast Missouri State University with a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. in Political Science.
Prior to his role as an attorney, Billy worked as a law clerk with the Costas Network Law Center, LLC, the Meyer Law Office, P.C., and the Colorado Legal Services Migrant Farm Worker Division. During law school Billy also served as a Student Attorney with the University of Denver Criminal Defense Clinic and volunteered with immigration non-profits in Colorado and at the border in El Paso/Juárez.
Prior to studying and practicing immigration law, Billy worked as an advocate and activist, fighting for the rights of immigrants for years. Billy is a founding board member of Colorado People’s Alliance, a non-profit focused on grassroots organizing to fight for immigrant, economic, environmental, and racial justice. Prior, he served on the board of Rights for All People/Derechos para todos, an immigrant-led, action-based non-profit, and other various boards and committees for organizations focused on labor and international human rights.
Billy’s first career was as a union organizer in Colorado and New Mexico. For nearly a decade, Billy worked on internal and external organizing campaigns, community organizing, coalition building, political strategy and field, public policy, contract negotiations, legislative advocacy, and direct representation.
